Multi-Billion $$ Monsanto Sues More Small Family Farmers

Percy Schmeiser is a farmer from Saskatchewan Canada, whose Canola fields were contaminated with Monsanto's genetically engineered Round-Up Ready Canola by pollen from a nearby farm. Monsanto says it doesn't matter how the contamination took place, and is therefore demanding Schmeiser pay their Technology Fee (the fee farmers must pay to grow Monsanto's genetically engineered products). According to Schmeiser, "I never had anything to do with Monsanto, outside of buying chemicals. I never signed a contract.
If I would go to St. Louis (Monsanto Headquarters) and contaminate their plots - destroy what they have worked on for 40 years - I think I would be put in jail and the key thrown away."
Rodney Nelson's family farm is being forced into a similar lawsuit by Monsanto.

Over the past century, global water supplies have been contaminated with the full gamut of Monsanto's chemicals, including PCBs, dioxin and glyophosate (Roundup). So now the company, seeing a profitable market niche, is taking control of the public water resources they polluted, filtering it, and selling it back to the people. In short, Monsanto is making a double profit by polluting the world's scarce freshwater resources, privately taking ownership of that water, filtering it, and selling it back to those who can afford to pay for it.

    • I don't care who said on line petitions were given very little weight...it's still a chance to let my "voice" be heard. Whoever said it was probably just trying to calm the influx of people taking the opportunity to speak out.
      I have signed every petition against Monsanto that I have had access too....and I feel pretty good about that!!

      I think you will find that the petitions that come in directly from organizations such as these where there is a direct connection between people and the written petition, actually do help the organization's cause - if you give them a call they can tell you how they help. The tricky petitions might be the ones that come in from individuals where you have to cut and paste and save and re-send when you become number 500, they get a little confusing and difficult to organize and cull duplicate/triplicate etc names (but still worth the voice and opportunity to act). Even with that, I do believe many people coming into alignment with an intent to serve with integrity does make a difference - if you consider how powerful prayer can be in numbers, or the power of the mind to create a happier day or future (the power of manifestation via positive thinking) - many people focusing on an issue can assist the healing and improvement of a situation to varying degrees. Keep the mind on positive solutions, peaceful solutions, healing solutions and you will feel so much better for it. Positive intention works, we are all connected in ways we cannot necessarily see. The more positively focused minds the merrier!

      It gives me a great feeling to stand beside such heroic members of our county, as the farmers who are standing up against Monsanto, and sign this petition.

      The letter which is part of the petition is grand!
