    • What the hell is this thing suppose to be? Cruising down the street in a giant sperm? It would be a good time if your garage looks like an egg.

    • In 1973 Shell Oil sponsored a rejiggered 1959 Opel P-1 which maxed out at 376mpg.

The car still exists. It's in Seattle!

Now - get those what-if spreadsheets ready!

If such Opels (capable of 100mpg, or 200mpg, or 300mpg) were sold in America starting in 1978 how much money wasted on fossil fuels would the US and global economies have saved by 2008?

Next, how much would hydro-carbon pollution be reduced by now?

Lastly, by 2008 would there be oil wars, oil shocks, or the prospect of economic meltdown if cars could achieve 300 mpg..rather the CAFE MAXIMUM of 35mpg? Which is 100mpg less than that achieved by a refitted 1949 Studebaker.

The prize? A completely revived economy. World wide.

Pls advise. The lines are open.
