Mike Striski is an energetic man that has been working on a project to change the World, The world, as we know it is going to change whether we like it or not. And if mike has his way it will be a better place. The future of our country is going to be determined on how we deal with our energy crisis and mike has a solution. Mike has converted his house to a solar hydrogen powered house. With a collection high Tec gear and a lot of perseverance Mike has converted his home to the first solar hydrogen powered house in America.
It all started when mike was asked to help the local high school with their electric car for a race; he was just going to driver the kids to the race and help load and unload the car. Upon arrival at the school three days prior to the race mike discovered the car was not ready. It needed a lot of work. Being the gear head that he was he jump in and help finish the car. The team won the race and many others.
Mike was inspired and found himself building all kinds of unique vehicles. One such vehicle was the Genesis that the New Jersey Department of transportation built to promote alternative fuel vehicles. This is a fuel cell electric car that can go a 130 miles an hour with a range of about three hundred miles and with no harmful emissions.
This technology that provides the power for Mikes house is 45 years old and has been used by NASA to power spacecraft. The biggest costs are the Solar panels, Fuel Cell and the Electrolyzer, When this system is built into more homes and can be mass produced it will come down in price.
The energy is stored in the form of hydrogen. Batteries only last about 6 years and have to be replaced.
When you convert solar energy into hydrogen it last forever. Hydrogen dose not go bad like batteries or other hydrocarbon fuels it will last forever if it is stored in the proper tanks.
