    • There's a Documentary: "Who killed the electric car in California ? The 4th largest Government on Earth isn't a national Government at all. It's California's. And they have an extreme problem with air quality in S. California. The air inversions contain so many poisons that burning gasoline for the past 100 years has caused them, it kills people. The week, sick, elderly, all die,Woemen can't even wheel their babies around in carriages there. Why ? The trees that are Nature's only line of defense in combating the human monkeyshit of the internal combustion engine are in short supply in such an arid area, And worse, they are burning up with wildfires caused by burned gasoline emmissions that continue to aggravate the Global Warming problem that's ironicaly causing ocean levels to rise which will flood coastlines up to 400 feet by 2040.So the next time you think 1 step ahead and 400 steps back, please remember that it was BIG OIL,specificaly the World BIG OIL MONOPOLY which overruled the California State Govenment by Coercing GM to recall its EV 1 in 1997, then shreding all the cars to conceal evidence of their Organized Crime. After they hired thugs to make anonymous death threats telephone calls to all the family members of the California Clean Air Control board to criminaly intimidate them into take a dive.So if you want others' grandchildren to drown because you don't care that you continue to advocate
continuing BIG OIL's parasitic destruction of our Earth,
which is also BIG PHARMA's killing of our citizens, which is also BIG GMO's destruction of our food supply and genetic mutations of innocent animals, then go ahead. You know people copy apathy too, So noone will stop you. But for me it's intensely personal. My beloved aunt was one of those people who died of cancer inflicted on her because BIG OIL also didn't care that she had a human right to breath clean air free of poison. If you've ever taken a flight descending into L.A. airport you've seen the smog that's so surreal it's ghastly. We don't need cars that for our monentary convenience will simply ease up on the expense accounts. WE NEED TO ELIMINATE THEM !!! Nickolas Tesla invented the first solar energy recharging patens in 1901, and the induction motor a few years later. He was about to develop his first electric induction motorized car in 1908 before Big OIl killed that too. Big Oil is culpable of mass negligent homocide. It's inconscionable for those in the know to do anything but boycott these fiends. Nickolas Tesla wrote: "If people continue to spend their Capital for the burning of fossil fuels, rather than resort to renewable free solar electric electricity to power their cars, then they will, in time, exhaust all their money, and will tragicly bankrupt all the non oil producing World Nations eventualy." Like Nostrdamus, his prophetic words are now staring us in the face, and STILL we ignore them !!! We are so mind controled, so brainwashed by the bad habit of fueling up with poisous, dangerous toxins that we have conditioned ourselves to not think outside the box.
We need to start thinking 800 steps ahead to 1 behind to counter & balance all the mass destruction which evil human greed has inflicted upon us. We need to compell the Govt. to implement an all electric subcompact like the BMW-5 which has a range of 240 miles costing $2,40-not other people their lives. And we need a 1930s W.P.A. to fund the building of solar recharging stations in every town and village in the USA to jumpstart this Depression back to life. Unless you want to learn how to speak Chinese. Electric cars are so quiet that they sound like a Lexus. I've seen and not heard the Environmental Vehicle #1, perform. The internal combustion engine was obsolete 25 years after it was invented, because it was an inferior idea whose time came and went. If you analogize a gas engine to a magnet, then the induction motor is like a solid Gold circuited superconductor because it's
      so efficient.

liquid fuel will never go away. It might be phased down as the price of some alternative becomes cheaper but price, design, resale value, and about 4 other factors will guide the market.

We could go set up white collar no drive days twice a week and let them work from home. That could be done. We can cut emissions, we can have cleaner fuel, we can improve via energy conservation but liquid fuels will never go away.

There is a phase in aspect to all of this and it happens over time, not over night.

As bad as it is, improvements have been made and it will get better. Step by step, one green wise consumer at a time.

We are seeing new train and trolley systems approved all over the country now. That will continue to expand.

We are seeing ride share, car share, all green sustainable vehicles. It is changing, however it does take time.

Cutting U.S. domestic fuel demand is JOB 1 to be sure and energy conservation is about using less in whatever manner you are able. Spreading that word is not about forcing anyone to do anything, it is about helping others to see the merit of green sustainable solutions.

    • The Shock Doctrine l Naomi Klein

The $700 Billion is being spent without oversight and for all the wrong reasons.

This must not stand as Main Street will need support as well.

These officers and board members must be held accountable.

    • VW Group. They call it Sustainable Mobility

Don't tell me we don't need new green leadership here with the Big 3.

They wouldn't know sustainable mobility if it came up and bit them on the A##

    • The green jobs can really hit the automakers the most, hopefully, they can profit more than have been doing selling cars, they have to know that the key idea is efficeincy

    • Are there any auto design parts that foreigners can have?

I have a friend from abroad who wishes to find a sponsor so that he can continue his field of work in the states?

      Anyone interested?
      Some help would be appreciated?

    • They sorta responded to the demand. Remember that SUV's where what people wanted.

Iaccoca was there the last time... the government loan garentees turned crysler around. (btw if it wern't for him there wounldn't have been the mustang either.)

Crysler more or less created the minivan and it sold well ... people want cars with room and power.

Henry Ford was into making cars from soy plastics.

Saab made a car of lightweight hightech materials that runs flexable fuels of the Diesel variety. Though it had very good fuel effeciency it was too expensive to mass produce.

Why hybrid cars weren't made over 40 years ago sometimes perplexes me since the RailRoad learned early on that the diesel electric locomotives were more effecient that the straight diesel ones. So it seems to me thta Hybrid trucks would have come allong many years ago. R&D costs money .. and the if it aint broke don't fixe it mentality. has put us there

    • VW R Roadster 60-70 mpg, plus speed and looks.

The next question what does it cost.

I am beginning to see why VW stock is so HIGH.

The Big 3 could be doing this right now but the officers and board members are still living in the 50's and 60's.

They should all be fired. No way I would give them one dime of fed money unless they were all GONE.

The Audi A1 is a very nice car, however I have yet to find out how much they want for it. Price does matter to me.

People talk about some of these new electric models with great designs however they want $80K.

I am not going to pay anywhere near that for a car.

    • Directors and officers with a focus on horsepower instead of MPG.

The goal is not 25 miles per gal.

The goal is 60-100 miles per gal.

    • In the past Chrysler/Dodge made some great cars. Such as the Cross Fire, PT Cruiser, Neon, Chrysler 300 and the Dodge Magnum. How could a company with such "hot" cars go so wrong so fast? Now they have to depend on GM buying them out just to survive.
