I grew up in rural America and it's not just the teens that misuse. Drinking too much in your younger years becomes a lifetime of alcohol abuse in many cases. Unless you move, (which I did), then you're safe!

I wonder what it is about living outside urban sprawl that makes young people drink so much. I'm from a fairly rural town... and growing up people really did put away the drinks. I think it was because there wasn't much else to do for kids at night. We weren't old enough to go to the bars so we'd have our own parties where there was no one to regulate serving sizes or anything.
