Balko calls it "an incredibly lame campaign, [which] reeks of stodgy wonks making a desperate attempt to look hip."
Here’s my challenge to Agitator readers, bloggers, and others: In this comments thread, let’s compile a master list of admitted pot smokers—current or former—who not only haven’t ended up as heroin junkies or burnouts, but have gone on to lead successful lives. If the person is famous, include a link. But feel free to add yourselves and what you do now, too, if you fit the criteria. School teacher? Cop? Stay at home mom? Grad student? Count yourself in. You can leave out your name if you like. Or include it. Either way.
I’ll get it started:
Barack Obama, president-elect. Bill Clinton, 42nd president of the U.S. John Kerry, U.S. Senator and 2004 Democratic nominee for president. John Edwards, multi-millionaire, former U.S. Senator, and 2004 Democratic nominee for vice president. Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska, 2008 Republican nominee for vice president. British Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, Transport Secretary Ruth Kelly, and and Chancellor Alistair Darling. Josh Howard, NBA all-star. New York Governor David Paterson. Former Vice President, Nobel Peace Prize winner, and Oscar winner Al Gore. Former Sen. Bill Bradley, who smoked while playing professional basketball. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, and former New York Governor George Pataki. Billionaire and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Aww man! I want a job as a burrito taster. My lungs are in bad shape, so smoking anything is out of the question.

If you get your prescription you can get your caregiver to deliver your favorite strain right to your place, just about like ordering pizza, sometimes faster. I just wished you could order it on pizza rather than smoking your prescription. Sounds like you could use the roughage anyways. And the legal stuff is so good you only need a toke or two in the morning to keep you fascinated with life all day. It's all that illegal dirt weed that's so bad for you. Persecution of our religious rights to non animal sacrificial inexpensive means to make burnt offerings to the Lord, has never been what's this country's been about. And R. Nixon claimed he was going to get us out of Viet Nam and once he made hemp federally illegal he seemed to forget about promising to get us out of Viet Nam, probably Alzheimer's setting in from lack of stimulation of his brain's cannabinoid receptors.

For over 200 years hemp/cannibus was legal tender in America. Yep, that's right, just like gold and silver. You could take a bail of weed to the courthouse and pay your property tax with it.
DEcriminalizing weed will stimulate out economy. It's a renewable source of gold with infinate demand. It's a gold mine with no bottom. If I told you you could spend $8000 on equipment and $4000 on supplies and bills then, work at home for 4 months and make 60K, would you do it? Damn straight! It is the answer.

Carl Sagen, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, the Pilgrims were all required to grow a patch of it for the good of the community. In fact hemp has been a central reason for bringing people together to grow the strands needed to build our temples of stone and sail our ships (Hey Joe while your cruising the park next to the Naval Observatory, take a look at the Parrott Rope Walk-see how it was done!) Our DNA even resembles rope. The King James Bible has over 340 references to making burnt offerings to the Lord. Every action taken against hemp users has been followed by war, since WWII. The state making the most money from hemp sales is where the Governors that became Presidents came from, who made the most effort to keep the rest of us from getting any. Think corn is scarce? Wait till the truckers, the airlines, the railroads, and the shipping companies find out that the best diesal comes from hempseeds. I've got my prescription, got yours?
