A new technique NASA has developed has been using the Hubble space telescope to find CO2, one of the byproducts of life, has found signs of the gas on a Jupiter-sized planet called HD189733b. Under the right circumstances, this could mean biological activity, or in other words, a sign of life.

According to NASA, HD 189733b itself is actually too hot to sustain life, but the success of the method opens the door to the continued search and maybe discovery of life on distant solar systems.
