Positive Review Received by “The 21st Century Environmental Revolution”--Solutions to Climate Change

David McCorquodale, Co-chair of Green Pages (the US Green Party print quarterly), just issued a favorable review for Mark C. Henderson's book on large-scale solutions for global warming and other environmental problems. It is currently posted on the publisher's website (Waves of the Future, http://www.wavesofthefuture.net) and will printed in Green Pages (February 2009 issue, http://www.gp.org/greenpages/index.php).

McCorquodale concluded: “The book has convinced me that the ETS [the strategy proposed in the book] could be an immensely important tool for the environment, but the obstacles are sizable, especially in the United States. Greens' support for such a strategy may play a critical role in overcoming the odds.“ (November 2008).

Mark C. Henderson argues that large-scale solutions are our best hope for addressing environmental issues such as climate change, conservation, contaminants, and renewable energy and for achieving sustainable development in the future. His book makes the case that a shift to environmental taxation could result in huge gains for the environment. First outlining several important political and economic requirements for large-scale change, he then develops a global solution which could address many environmental issues (global warming, carbon emissions, contaminants, conservation, renewable energy, etc.) at very little expense.

    • Right, Quacks have been around since the alchemists and before...There is no such thing as man made Global Warming. Humans have been producing CO2 since they learned to control FIRE, Whole continents have burned to the ground during times of drought, volcanoes of magnitudes unheard of have spewed billions and billions of tons of co2 and other highly toxic gasses regularly high into the atmosphere ( high enough to escape the clutches of green plants, who can't get enough CO2 ). Who do you think you are to be presumptious enough and important enough to actually belong to a class of animal species capable of influencing the weather on this planet. Maybe a group of people could have an effect on a macro environment, but THE CYCLES OF THE TEMPREATURE OF the earth...go get a life..READ SOMETHING INTERESTING.....http://current.com/items/89613636/650_scientists_deny_man_made_global_warming.ht...

      There is no man made Global Warming, it is just a vain attempt to profit from one of the biggest scams ever pulled of by one lunatic fringe people on humanity. This scam is second only to the FINANCIAL BAILOUT

      Dude, check the sun...there are no spots...no freaking spots...are you truly implying that co2 can overcome the absence of freakin sun spots...also, check the direction that the locust swam clouds in Saudi Arabia are flying these days ( S by SW )...not a very good omen,,wouldn't you agree...
      Dude, if we can heat up this planet...we better get busy,,,millions of species are in danger of becoming ice cubes in the next decade...GET FIRED UP and SAVE THIS PLANET DUDE...Go stare at the sun for 15 minutes if you don't believe me...you will not see 1 spot...guaranteed !~

    • Global warming began as a theory decades ago. It has only become scientifically established as a result of overwhelming evidence and support from scientists.

      You can't call for the "end of the world" based on a couple of anecdotal pieces of evidence or research. When your theory gets overwhelming support from the scientific community, you let me know!

      PS. The above book deals not only with global warming but also sustainable development, conservation, contaminants, rnewable energy, etc.

      Just in ....Recent studies have shown that the unusual Global Cooling Effect we will be experiencing for the net 15 to 40 years has been determined to have actually been started by HUMANS. It has recently been proven that the sun has received a huge amount of "FLASH BACK " radiation causing an encrustacion of it surfrace which has wiped out all its sunspots...Unfortunately, this has caused the Sun to actually increase it's own internal heat ( it will actually begin to hold it heat within its crust ), it wil go into a somewhat dormant stage. This additional heat absorption has been determined to come from EARTH. The Sun has actually been receiving this flash back radiation from EARTH...due to all of the solar reflectors place throughout EARTH, in a vain attempt to reduce atmospheric co2 by mis-guided, Lemming like GREEN PEOPLE. These people are actually harming the environment they think they are saving. This effect can be now be Pin Pointed to actual specific location ( by triangulation of the last known sun spot's non radiation zone which didn't reflect of the moon, which was recorded by sun radiation monitoring stations positione throughout the earth )...We can actually compare the current readings to past readings and triangulate right to someone's roof top......It seems that there may be a vast increase in law suits by people who's family members FREEZE TO DEATH, so you better watch out, this science may point right to your own rooftop solar panel. This will affect generations for years to come.
      Also, Polar Bears are even going to be Frozen to death...It will be that cold !
      This is a very disturbing discovery.
