The "christian religion " has put itself at the forefront of deception through blind faith. Yes corporate america is to blame for the demise of democracy however, the tax exempt church has used their influence to decieve a nation. According to these "good christians" on the far right , abortion laws are more important than half a million dead woman and children in foreign countries, gay marriage is more important than holding someone accountable for TORTURE, stem cell research must be defeated instead of helping the 26,000 American military families who have watched their sons and daughters commit suicide. The "christian church" holds sway over how millions of Americans vote, thus they are just as responsible as any corporate criminal. There are a number of scholars from seminary who point this hipocracy out yet these scholars are silenced by the media and viewed by the churches who support the Republicans as anti-christian. If you believe your christian god would advocate this murder, torture and deceipt, then you and your god can go straight to hell. Christians are NOT the know all , rightious speakers on behalf of God, and to accept them as such is as anti-christian as it gets. And if these people can't understand how they have set themselves up as targets of true christianity, then all the ridicule directed at them is justifiable. I especially like how the "christian right wing" thinks calling someone a sociallist is a derogatory comment. They have obviously read the version of the bible that says Jesus surrounded himself with wealthy nobles, landowners, powerfull clergymen. However the bible I have read actually portrays Jesus as a socialist who tried to help the poor, feable and sick. I still haven't found the chapter that calls Torture a christians right , the murder of innocent woman and children is ok as long as you do it to people of one of the "false religions". If anyone finds these chapters, please point them out to All of us.

CBN is probably a saint compared to the corporate fuqs polluting the truth that everyone has a better right to know.
it's truer that corporations and their revolving door of CEOs et al have many tentacles around politics AND religion (I saw one "Reverend" on a WSJ front page last week or so that irked the hell out of me since the rest of us don't get a "government" bailouts on home foreclosures or anything else!!! these g'dam corporate/banking fuqs will throw us out and screw us almost every g'dam time for the illicit accumulation of wealth, using whatever perverted or deceived "tools" they can and do...the corporate's long tentacles invisibly employ agents to intentionally decieve and choke the more honest and telling truths, and do blatantly poison and trap less-accommodating others with lies when they can, whether at CBN, or some posed/deceived reverend noone ever heard about from somewhere no on cares about on the front page of the Journal, and, through many many other deceitfully hatched guises, bribes, and devices...even involving violence and death. but make no mistake, it is the corporate candidates of our purported choice who "win" on the undeliverable promise of change that is never truthfully intended in the first place, if that isn't already so obvious, so that corporations and bankers are free to do what they want irrespective to better social, economic and environmental wisdom.
but victim', I think you rather do a disservice to partly confuse the issue, jabbing at CBN as if to lay this at their feet, however implicitly or explicitly guilty they may be, practically absolving the corporate fuqs truly more instigatingly, originally, guilty. Potentially, it's almost as if you'd wish to frame this exclusively into a religious debate, which alienates the truly well-intentioned, however ignorant, religious that, I'll remind you, do exist, though intentionally, as you might imagine, marginalized as much as possible to be kept in the dark about things much as you'd describe.
Awareness, on all fronts, is the best weapon of hope, for eventual action would soon follow better intelligence, and the evil and wicked would have to compromise or redevise their deceptions at least for the short term... It never seems to go away though...not in this life.

Someone here needed verification on the effects of Coal on our nation. Start here where you can learn that the number of counties in Appalachia whose water has been contaminated has nearly tripled in the last 8 years of Treasonous acts by the Washington establishment. Come and drink the water, stay and watch as whole communities are flooded out due to the repeal of regulations on backfilling streams and valleys. Watch as the super rich coal companies tell you how they've helped the people of Appalachia with jobs, (15 years ago there were 132,000 miners) today there are 23,000. or you can tune in to FOX News for the uneducated and hear about the wonderful technology from Grimm's Fairy tales. Or how about the Christian Broadcast Networks coverage of Clean Coal and all the wealth it has brought the area. ( WV, highest poverty rate, highest welfare rate, one of the top 5 unhealthiest states in America) Nothing like being lied to by the "good christians" at CBN.

"...does nothing..." mako'??? Why are our lives the way they are? It's a crisis of conscience, and from this, I still hear reverberating echoz..."there is no such thing as clean coal...there is no such thing as clean coal...there is no such thing as ....(???...did you guess it???) 'clean' coal..." Well, perhaps aside from discounted awareness and what a fuqn sham Obama is, I guess, bending over backwards indefinitely enough to make a speeding rolling 'O'...yeah, mako' i guess there's a sliver of some reclusive possibility that you'd be so humorously 'simplistically' right =P lol No offense though... I wish the rest of the nation had really listened to Illinois where this corporate-social-fink was concocted.
Watching that zeitgeist addendum, although I don't agree, as they presuppose, that there's anything a purely human "solution" won't inevitably fuq up by his own fallen nature alone, all I can think about is that they only care about what they can feasibly make enslavingly most profitable, despite ANY social, or environmental costs. Interestingly (to me, at least), it is the bible that does make prophetic reference to the fact that rich men will destroy the earth...looking at it practically, it's not so far from the actual truth, it seems. *shrug* We see the solutions and are powerless to reach them... who does this world belong to? hmmm...

As far as persuasion goes, this is not a very good effort. No facts. No figures. Just subdued outrage and "its obvious" rhetoric. I'm all for exposing the underbelly of "clean" coal but this does nothing in that department.

Valuing jobs creation above the health of the environment?
Why not create a public works program where we're hired to kill one another.

It should be common sense to people! I suspect in this slowing economy it will be harder for people to resist the development of such resources because people tend to be swayed or out maneuvered by politicians (all the while taking money secretly behind the scenes) promising more jobs!

Thank you for posting this. I live in Illinois where Obama supports a "clean coal" (not) carbon sequestration plant called "Future Gen". We live in a small population area, and experts have said coal sequestration should not take place near large population areas. This is in part because of a naturally occuring carbon dioxide bubble that came up out of a lake in Africa a few years ago and killed 3000 people. Soon we will become the canaries for the technology. Thanks, Barack, for selling us out on this issue, as well as on honest health care reform.
