Equally it's hardly suprising that our Global Political leaders and policy makers don't get it either.
If the science community are confused - they had better start using the KISS principle rather quickly. For all our sakes
As George Monbiot recently said "Sod the polar bears - This is us we are talking about!"
KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID - SCIENTISTS!

I might as well add that it's not just the confusion with CO2 and CO2-e that they are stuffing up and confusing the general populus with.
The use and confusion in reporting the tons/tonnes of CO2 presently emitted as greenhouse gases also should start using the KISS principle.
When reported in imperial measurments is some documents and reports while in others the metric tonnes are reported, confusion again rules in the minds of those less informed.
This is not an isolated issue, it's global. Let's all start talking in the same language and terms shall we?

PS I don't agree with Hansen on this particular issues - agree with him generally - but not this time.
With the methane emissions on the expodential rise and not going anywhere but UP; and quickly. Then to ignor these in future projections of their global warming impact, is life putting out the fire in the lounge room and ignoring the one that is burning out of control in the kitchen!
