Drugs in drinking water

I know most of us toss old medicines down the drain or in the trash without giving much thought as to where it ends up (sorta like we do with most of our waste). Excellent radio segment on how drugs are starting to show u in our drinking water.

    • If the government can't bring itself to regulate tobacco, why would they have an interest in regulating the safety of our drinking water?

In this case, I'd say the withdrawals from prescription medications should be easier to deal with, considering you'll soon be able to get your Vicodin-fix while showering for work.

    • Don't put them down the drain or toilet! It's best to put them in the trash, after wrapping them in plastic.

Also, you should refrain from peeing when you are on medication.

    • The Russians and the Nazis used to put Sodium Flouride in the water to keep the population under control. When people drink water with sodium flouride they become docil, in other words stupid.

How smart will you look when your teeth are yellow, decaying, and falling out.

Don't use toothpaste either, it contains the same ingredient, at MUCH HIGHER concentrations!

I watched a movie on fluoride that showed the doctor who said fluoride was good for you was the same doctor working on the u.s. nuclear project..fluoride being one of the bi-products why would he say its bad for you? that would mean the nuclear research would end.....thought it was interesting!

besides of new research showed it was good for your teeth why would so many people fight to get it out of our water?

"Fluoride science is corporate science. Fluouride science is DDT sicence. It's asbestos science. It's tobacco science. It's a racket."
Hailed as a harmless chemical that would prevent tooth decay, new evidence shows how fluoride could be linked to serious health problems.

Fluoridation was first advanced in the US at the end of the second World War. Proponents argued that fluoride in water and toothpaste would help to protect teeth and prevent decay. Over the following decades, fluoride was added to public water supplies across the country.

While the benefits of fluoridation have been held to be unquestionable, accumulating evidence points to a frightening prospect: that fluoride may have serious adverse health effects, including infant mortality, congenital defects and IQ.

Now a new book, titled "The Fluoride Deception" by Christopher Bryson examines the background of the fluoridation debate. According to Bryson, research challenging fluoride's safety was either suppressed or not conducted in the first place. He says fluoridation is a triumph not of medical science but of US government spin.

    • The staggering amount of pharmaceutical toxins coincides with the unprecedented & barely regulated influence Big Pharma now has in our healthcare system, our gov't & medical schools. People are consuming massive amounts of medications - Rx & OTC - often unnecessarily & ultimately flushed, completing the cycle.

Omnipresent advertising of Rxs & kickbacks to MDs has accelerated their use while natural, homeopathic & holistic healing has been abandoned & intentionally smothered. Shortsighted greed is leaving us with a long-term ecological disaster as these chemicals now reenter the food chain.

    • We knew back in the early 70's that the birth control pills contained non-biodegradable hormones that were being passed through users systems and showing up in our ground and our water.
