The now 10-week-old golden lab was created using the DNA from the family's deceased pet in a South Korea laboratory by a Bay Area bio-tech firm and is the first single-birth, commercially cloned pup in the United States.

One cool fact about this story is this whole process was started by a guy who lost his dog and was willing to do whatever it took to get his dog back. This couple won one of the 5 auctions put up by BioArts International last year.

that is so cool, but so creep just becuase it was a dog cloned. I wonder if they would do it every time the dog dies and was it expensive

I have actually read quite a bit on this company and while this research does help they say it's still at least a 5yr+ investment to move the tech to another species and that's for something similar in complexity and size to a dog.
