crookie
2012: Time for Change is a feature-length documentary, directed by Joao Amorim of Curious Pictures in New York and featuring Daniel Pinchbeck, the bestselling author of "2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl" (Penguin, 2006). In the style of "An Inconvenient Truth", "What the Bleep Do We Know", and "Waking Life", our file explores ideas about what the immediate future may hold, symbolized by the myths and prophecies of the Mayan culture of Mexico. Interviews with design scientists, anthropologists, physicists such as Dean Radin, Barbara Max Hubbard, Nassim Haramein John Todd and Paul Stamets and celebrities such as David Lynch, Sting, Ellen Page and Gilberto Gil. 2012 combines Film and animation in an innovative way, taking us on a journey through our own evolution.

    • Briefly, the McKennas regard our universe as a hologram, created by the interaction of two hyper-universes, just as an ordinary hologram is created by the interaction of two lasers. One consquence of this model is that, if our universe is a hologram, every part contains the information of the whole, as in normal holography.

      As we have seen, the Sarfatti interpretation of Bell's Theorem and the Leary theory of eighth circuit consciousness also lead to this conclusion, which, in effect, means that every atom contains the "brain" of the whole universe.

      But the McKenna theory goes far beyond this. There are 64 time-scales in the hologram of our universe, they say, and each one is related to one of the 64 (8 x 8) hexagrams of the I Ching. What we call "mind" or "consciousness" is a standing wave form in these 64 time-systems. As the two hyper-universes making up the hologram of our known universe interact in time, "mind" manifests further in our continuum. This means, in concrete physical terms, that the quantum bonds of the DNA are evolving faster and faster. We are not riding one but 64 evolutionary waves all mounting toward a cosmic Awakening something like the Omega Point suggested by paleontologist Teilhard de Chardin.

      The natural question, of course, is just when are the McKennas' 64 time-scales reaching their peak in our linear time? The McKennas have programmed a computer with their 64 I Ching time systems and the answer is that everything goes jackpot around A.D. 2012.

      That is, they assert: a 4,300-year cycle from urbanization to the dawn of modern science;

      a 384-year cycle in which science has caused more upsurge of novelty than in that 4,300 cycle;

      a 67-year cycle (from technological breakthroughs of the 1940s, to the peak in 2012) in which there will be more acceleration than there was between Galileo and Hiroshima;

      a 384-year cycle in 2011-2012 when there will be more tranformations than in all the previous cycles;

      a 6-day cycle at the end of that in which things will move even faster; and so on, down to a grand climax in which, as they say,

      in the last 135 minutes, 18 such barriers (i.e., barriers comparable to the appearance of life, the invention of language or the achievement of immortality - R.A.W.) will be crossed, 13 of them in the last 75 X 10(-4) seconds.

      That is, in the last two hours before Peak, we will achieve 18 extensions of consciousness and power, each one comparable to the passing from sea to land or from Earth to Space.

      And in the last .0075 seconds of the Great Cycle we will pass through 13 such transformations.

    • there is definitely hysteria but if you study Maya culture as I do you will find that this "end date" is actually the beginning date of the new world. All the calendar is doing is providing a time line for the evolution of human conciseness. The main point is for us to shift to higher conciseness by shedding our dualistic thinking/morality and embracing both positive and negative aspects of our existence in an objective manner. This inner change allows us to live in peace with the nature of our reality and enables us to change our outside world.

      The hysteria comes from a dualistic manner of thinking.. end = bad, beginning = good.. they are both actually both. Once we shed our dualistic inner mind we are free/able to the world objectively with logic and are not hung up with frustrating, negative unproductive emotions. We have the power to change the world only after we have changed our selves.

      The work has already begun for those who sense this shift happening. The Maya people are now opening up their culture and spiritual knowledge to the outside world. Check out these links if you are interested in bypassing all the hysteria and want to know what the Maya were really up to with their calendar and its end date of 2012.

      actually this documentary preview is about the world not coming to an end .. .. it's about a change where humans value a healthy planet and discovering where we fit in nature and the universe..

    • intresting.... but regarding the title, i beleive the time for change is now! not in another 3 years when you think something dramatic will happen.
