The Return of Dagon....

Mobius2012
The symbol for Dagon has made its way to Christian churches and christian homes. The symbol of the fish, was not and it never was christian; but thanks to the catholic church the fish is recognized as an official christian symbol. That's why God instructed His people to refrain from making any images from anything in heaven, or on earth, or from the water below. Christians need to wake up and come out of the ways of the pagans!

    • I am a Christian. Christianity has a likeness to Jewish and Hebrew traditions. It is basically a reformed version of Judaism. While Jews still await the first coming of a Christ figure. The Jews don't accept the Christ that we Christians except. Christianity is based, more or less, on the Bibles New Testament.

Yes, Christianity does draw a lot of it's traditions from other religions, but that doesn't make it any less credible.

    • The fish is a Christian symbol. You see all the cars that have the Ichthys (Jesus fish) on them? That's an adopted symbol from the Greek word for fish, used as an acronym for Jesus Christ God Son Savior. Jesus does a lot with fish in the gospels. For Chrissakes, just check the damned wiki on Ichthys.

    • Christianity is probably the least creative religion of them all. Their whole religion is based on borrowed thoughts, concepts, morals, astro-theological connections, etc.

    • As i have learned, when Christians were being prosecuted in Roman times, they used a fish symbol to indicate that two people were christian.

one person would draw half the fish in the sand and if the other person was Christian, they would draw the other half. Only Christians new of this 'text message', so if you did it in front of none Christians they just thought you were playing in the dirt.

    • All religion started as pagan religion.
Even the christians cant deny their heritage, look it up for yourself.

The virgin mother, the death of the son of god then his rebirth (ect, ect) you think christians came up with this? No. Egypt, sumeria, persia, most of the ancient worlds religions all beat christianity to the punch. All of them same traditions with different symbols.

Dont believe me? rather than argue with me about it and look a fool, research for yourself and learn the truth about religion.

Religion doesn't destroy people, other people destroy people. religion does have it's good points, but there are many religious leaders that have given a lot of religions a bad name.

    • Unless you see a fish crucified on a cross in a Church, you're barking up the wrong tree.

As mentioned before, fish was a symbol used by the underground Christian movement during the times of Roman persecution. The fish is a type of acronym in Old Greek which stands for Jesus. It was a secret symbol used to identify fellow followers. Plus Jesus used the symbolism of fish and fishermen often so the use of a fish makes sense to use as a secret symbol as opposed to another animal.

How did you relate Dagon to Dogon?

    • The fish is symbolic of several CHRISTIAN stories: Jesus filling the nets of the FISHermen
The FISHermen witnessing him walk on water.
      etc. etc. etc.

    • Uhh... yeah... except that the fish symbol was an inconspicuous sign for the meeting places of early Christians, it has absolutely nothing to do with the religion.

      Main Entry:
      pa·gan
      Pronunciation:
      \ˈpā-gən\
      Function:
      noun
      Etymology:
Middle English, from Late Latin paganus, from Latin, civilian, country dweller, from pagus country district; akin to Latin pangere to fix — more at pact

So, how again are all Christians Pagans?

      i see no definition there...
and im pretty sure he meant that many pagan customs evolved and were adapted into christian traditions. so in that way christians are more pagan than not.

      Agreed brad ....

Lets think about things like Easter eggs, Christmas trees to name just a couple.

The Catholics should take a look at their worship of Mary and the other "Saints" that more or less match a pantheon of the Latin and Greek gods.

Going by "The Book" .. "The Christ" has paid the price for the forgiveness of "sin" there is no need to pray to "Mary" so she can pray for your forgiveness.
