Aspirin could lower stomach cancer risk

A British Journal of Cancer study has established that taking aspirin could lower the risk of developing one type of stomach cancer by up to a third.

    • It can lower your risk of stomach cancer and increase your risk of ulcers and other gastrointestinal problems. Now that's a nice trade off.
      Your body doesn't get stomach cancer from a shortage of aspirin. And to get your blood thin doesn't require aspirin. That is manipulating the symptom without getting to the cause. That's not real science but a majic act. In 1999 aspirin was the 15 leading cause of death. People who take aspirin on long term basis have four times more strokes.

    • Interesting. I take aspirin everyday because of "strokes' in both my paternal and maternal history, plus my granfather died of some kind of GI cancer no one would 'talk about' so we don't know exactly what kind. So the ASA would do double duty. I"ll look forward to more research on the cardiac gastric and esophageal CA. Zantac and tagamet are H2 receptor-inhibitors so I don"t know?
