H5N1 strain hits Xinjiang in China

China has reported their first bird flu outbreak this year, after 519 fowl has died from the deadly H5N1 strain in the Xinjiang region.

Emergency measures were introduced killing an additional 13,000 fowl. The ministry didn't specify what poultry was affected.
