100 Days and Counting: A Fast Start for President Obama

Image

In his first 100 days, President Obama has set a bold agenda on the environment, laying out a comprehensive energy and climate plan as one of his top three policy priorities. His administration has moved quickly to limit global warming pollution, reduce America's dependence on oil, protect public health, and invest in clean energy sources- from the sun, wind and water. But many challenges lay ahead, including the Interior Department's misguided step of taking grey wolves off the endangered species list.

The Natural Resouces Defense Council (NRDC) has launched this timeline to assess the administration's impact on the environment, and we will continue to update it as Mr. Obama's presidency unfolds.

    • Obama is an asshole. Obama has added two billion dollars to the debt ( and more spending on the way), and nows he is wasting more money worrying about why the polar bears are dying. I'm sorry, but extinction is an undeniable part of our world and we have no control over it. The environment is a waste of money. Make Verticle farms and get over it. Sorry the sad animals are dying but thats what happens. Everyone thought he would change things, hes just like everyone else.

    • Got to give the man credit he is trying to undue damage thats been around since the Reagan years, 8 years of Cheney/Bush and countless years of Repug Democats lack of concern for the environment. He is fighting both parties, liberals, conservatives, middle of the roaders, big corporations etc all demanding their agendas are taking care of first or nothing gets done. We cannot sit back now and let events unfold, we must remind Congress and the Senate that this is our agenda and it comes before theirs. we put them in power we can take them out. This may be the only time we have to let our voice be heard and we should be out their screaming at the top of our lungs DO IT NOW!
