GM crops are poisoning the planet

WE ARE BEING POISONED DAILY, and it is happening with the consent of the very politicians so many continue to support and believe. It is happening with the help of a complicit and desensitized media that cares nothing for real truth and education on the whole, but simply "entertaining the masses" into apathy. It is happening with corporate malfeasance that is placing the almighty dollar above all else even at the expense of human life and the sustainability of the only planet that can sustain us.
And the only way it will stop is if we speak out. Now.

Hou-kairs , watch "food inc" . Everyone needs to know where their food really comes from . Ha ha , seajade , I have often thought that "Soylent Green" is where we will surely wind up if monsanto has its way and people remain willfully ignorant .

For hou-kairs: There are people here that can give you a much shorter answer to your question/s, and you may even have spent some time watching some of these presentations I am giving links to below, and new works are coming out on a regular basis - these just happen to be a few of my favorite to cite to try and give a clearer picture of the whole:
The Century of the Self:
A four part series made by the BBC, this will help you understand how the public is manipulated by television and other media... there are several other docs of this nature, but this is an excellent place to begin, its the BBC after all....it makes what i call a great bridge documentary...
http://freedocumentaries.org/film.php?id=140The Corporation:
"If you want to understand the problems and conflicts in the world then you will need to understand politics. And if you want to understand politics then you will have to understand how a corporation works and its influence on society. After all, with it being legal for corporations to donate funds to politicians, it should be expected that these corporations would like favors in return."
http://freedocumentaries.org/film.php?id=102and now onto GMO's... firstly, please read Jan's posts on this subject... Her research is amazing and vast and will answer every question you have, in the meantime, this is one out of several excellent docs on GMO's...
http://www.thefutureoffood.com/there is also a newly released doc called "Food Inc", from what I hear it is a well done program...
and, yes, there are factions of our society that are absolutely wanting to ban home gardening, as evil as that sounds, it has been tried and thankfully, so far,
not won out, but it is being tried and tried again and again... your congress is owned by the corporation and monsanto, does appear to want to own all the food sources in the world... (remember the cult classic film "Soylent Green" call it "Monsanto Green")
Also, if you are old enough to remember, we had to fight tooth and nail to keep our natural remedy and vitamin rights in the early 1990's... its back again with full force... you can go here...http://www.globalhealthfreedom.org/
you can search all of these titles on youtube as well for short intros... there are many many more docs, but this will keep you occupied for a day or so....

Really, I don't seem the harm in GM food, so long as its done correctly and safely, Now, I admit I am very naive about GM crops, and I know that feeding cows hormones can cause problems when the meat is eaten. But if we can double our crop supply safely through science, clone almost extinct fish to re-supply the oceans population and help to feed a starving world, especially in 3rd world countries, then that sounds like a good thing to me!
If we can use our knowledge of science and agriculture to help feed every mouth in this world and produce other human kind benefiting products such as ethanol, with an even cheaper price tag. Then this is a good thing. No? Yes? Please inform me where I am wrong and I will stand corrected, if so! Maybe its Monsanto thats the problem. The corporation itself, and not the actual technology.
It just seems to me that if we can produce larger and more abundant crops, then why not? Please, someone explain why feeding hungry people and using technology to grow better crops is a bad idea. Is it because only one company (Monsanto) seems to have a monopoly in this field? Or is this really damaging to our health?
Again, I am naive to this subject. But I do not see the harm in this technology -- So long as the technology is being used in a "betterment for mankind basis" because I'm sure there could be nefarious ways to use this technology, if so desired. For example, population control as mentioned earlier. But is there proof of this type of behavior? Or is this just another conspiratorial disinformation program to further distract us from the truth....Whatever that may be to the eye of the beholder. - 2 years ago

Can't really argue.
I've told people for years that I find it almost hilarious that people are more worried about what is in their cars than in their bellies.
As if we are somehow more durable than our vehicles.

Thanks to you for bringing this issue to Current.
Slightly off-topic:
We need to be cautious of becoming too enthralled by the alternative we often focus attention to: soon it will become illegal to speak such topics. The careless treatment of food is an aspect of the Depopulation Agenda, to say the least. If not, then witness another example of foolish people unqualified to protect food from "accidental" overexposure to radiation, pathogens, and debilitating toxins.
Grow your own food before it becomes illegal to; visit the link attached to this comment.
(We cannot allow for Codex Alimentarius to go unnoticed or unquestioned by the people of this planet!)

You're welcome. It's very important to our lives that these issues be known. Thank you for the link also. I will surely check it out and spread it around. And Codex Alimentarius is slated to take effect this December unbeknownst to a great part of the world. This for sure is an attack on our food freedom which is an attack on our ability to survive and we must fight it.

It will never become illegal to grow your own food. Impossible! Really, like the starving people of earth or any country would put up with this nonsense. Seriously, don't be so paranoid. Our backyard gardens aren't going anywhere. Impossible and too irrational to ever be enforced.
Little off topic but:
Like outlawing weed has ever stopped people from growing pot, c'mon. Please, this seems like wasted energy. What are they gonna do? Turn the Sun off? lolThe only thing to fear is fear itself!

The sad thing is that most people's minds are already so brainwashed they cannot make the logical connection that what we put in our food, what we breathe, and drink has almost everything to do with our good or ill health... It looks to me that most of the population are sick, from low grade lack of energy and lack of life spark and optimisim to very obvious illnesses. Yep, its sad to see.... but we can change that collectively..... Wake Up!
"Wichita, KS - The American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) today released its position paper on Genetically Modified foods stating that "GM foods pose a serious health risk" and calling for a moratorium on GM foods. Citing several animal studies, the AAEM concludes "there is more than a casual association between GM foods and adverse health effects" and that "GM foods pose a serious health risk in the areas of toxicology, allergy and immune function, reproductive health, and metabolic, physiologic and genetic health." The AAEM calls for:
* A moratorium on GM food, implementation of immediate long term safety testing and labeling of GM food.
* Physicians to educate their patients, the medical community and the public to avoid GM foods.
* Physicians to consider the role of GM foods in their patients' disease processes.
* More independent long term scientific studies to begin gathering data to investigate the role of GM foods on human health."Multiple animal studies have shown that GM foods cause damage to various organ systems in the body. With this mounting evidence, it is imperative to have a moratorium on GM foods for the safety of our patients' and the public's health," said Dr. Amy Dean, PR chair and Board Member of AAEM. "Physicians are probably seeing the effects in their patients, but need to know how to ask the right questions," said Dr. Jennifer Armstrong, President of AAEM. "The most common foods in North America which are consumed that are GMO are corn, soy, canola, and cottonseed oil." The AAEM's position paper on Genetically Modified foods can be found at http:aaemonline.org/gmopost.html. AAEM is an international association of physicians and other professionals dedicated to addressing the clinical aspects of environmental health. More information is available at www.aaemonline.org."

That is truly mindboggling, isn't it? That people on the whole cannot even connect the dots to understand that why they feel sick may just be because of what they put in their bodies. Garbage in, garbage out.
