Excerpt from the article:
"In a ruling that will shock and dismay environmentalists everywhere, the US Supreme Court decided that the Clean Water Act shouldn't prevent mining companies from dumping their toxic waste into lakes--even with full knowledge that doing so will exterminate every trace of life within."

I wonder how Sonia Sotomayor would vote...
If she gets on, then six out of nine supreme court justices would be catholics I believe... A little slanted. If not right away, she may grow into a more conservative point of view...something to think about...

The vote:
Joining Kennedy in approving the disposal plan were Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas, Stephen Breyer and Samuel Alito Jr.
In addition to Ginsburg, dissenting were Justices John Paul Stevens and David Souter. - 3 years ago

The defense of this is because it's "the easiest way?"
Well it would be easier for me to park in a handicap zone, or take a leak where ever I wanted, or to rob a bank because it's easier than working.
Does that make anything legal because it's easier?
HELL NO!
Is the Supreme Court so supreme it can work it's way around a law called "The Clean Water Act?"
Is this blind justice, or Corporate Justice?
WTF

The article in question states this idea is "less environmentally damaging than other options." - What ARE the other options?

How could this ruling possibly not be in violation of the Clean Water Act?
