A Philadelphia prison hopes to save money—and the environment—by using solar panels to provide hot water at the facility.

The new solar-powered system at the Riverside Correctional Facility replaces traditional oil- and gas-fired water heaters.

    • Ya see the people that own the prison know how to save a buck and get a tax break for doing so. So when will the people that build these panels start selling the poor boy model? I am unable to afford twenty thousand dollars to go Solar. How can this be done on a poorboy's budget? The wife and I would love to go solar we have a house that would love to go solar. Does any one know how to do it on the cheap? For under five grand.
