    • I completely agree, it injects into the local economy, wherever that may be, and it's definitely much healthier than food that takes quite a journey before it arrives on your plate. Local is the way to go.

    • I love the idea of eating locally. The problem is that the farmer's market and food coop in my city are both ten miles from where I live. That's a long way to bike or bus. So I usually walk to the commercial supermarket that is a block away from my apartment.

    • I agree. This way the growers won't have to spray chemicals on the produce to keep it fresh longer and we won't have wax to scrub off our cucumbers.
      The companies won't need all those refrigerated trucks to run and fill with diesel fuel.
      Less traffic over the roads equals less wear and tear to the infrastructure.....
      Local farmers markets and green grocers buying local should be the norm.
      I don't like large supermarkets any way so let's go back to the: local butcher, the baker and the green grocers. Buy what you need for one or two days in your own neighborhood.
