@Lookatmypix that was a brilliant suggestion!

Leahl, I was thinking you might want to create a group called: 911 Activist where posts like this one, front line environmental fights could be categorized.
Just a suggestion. - 2 years ago

You know, Chevron_Justinh, I've been reporting on the environment for a long time. Monsanto said the same thing about "The World according to Monsanto" and Factory Farmers said the same thing about "Food Inc." Ditto the documentary "Flow."
Here's the thing Justin, the makers of "Crude" could have spent all kinds of time talking about Petroecuador or any of the other issues that you mention, but just like any film, they only have so much time to get the message out.
Chevron may think that "there are others worse than us" and I would probably agree. Exxon is just as bad or worse. As far as I'm concerned, you should all be tried for crimes against humanity, because clean air, water and soil are human rights.
I assume that you work for Chevron, (Correct me if I am wrong) and the fact that you get paid to lurk environmental websites and counter claims in the comment section and "offer the truth" through a company website, tells me that you are vested in the message through a pay check and not through a moral compass.
I would also suggest that you visit our website and type the word "Oil" into the search bar. But do me a favor Justin, do it on your time, and not on Chevrons.

This is Justin with Chevron. While we appreciate you discussing this matter, your readers/viewers would be better served if they were presented with the entire story. Like the movie Crude there were a number of factual omissions and incorrect statements made by Mr. Shan. For example, the movie does not address health conditions due to sewage contamination of drinking water or that Petroecuador has independently operated in the area for almost 20 years and has had 1,400 spills since 2000 alone.
We would be more than happy to chat or join you for a segment to discuss the case in greater depth.
In the meantime, those interested in learning the truth can visit:

A CRUDE awakening to the real cost of our oil addiction! It's time to Kick Gas and stand up to Big OIL Corporations that do not represent our interests at home or abroad. It's sickening how so many around the world are suffering from poor air quality and oil pollution.

Great interview, thank you so much! I also appreciate the issue touched upon regarding the amount of money spent on defense, lawyers, and arguing, could have already cleaned up the damage - its not only this situation, it happens over and over, it boggles the mind on the insanity of it all.
And yes, these segments are really important and would appreciate seeing more! As lookatmypix says, its mutual support. - 2 years ago

Knowing what goes on in the front line of the fight for the protection of our environment is extremely important.
They need our support.
We need theirs.

Thanks for the information. I am watching this closely as the verdict in this case is due soon. And to answer your question, yes, I love this segment. We all need to be activists now, whether it is out on the frontlines protesting, in our communities, or on the Internet using it to its greatest advantage. We need to get information out and hold those destroying our environment accountable. It was the unrelenting activism of the 70s that brought us so much in the way of progress... we need to get that spirit back. We need this precedent to be set.
