"No one recalls anything like this – they say it’s from the Red Centre, where gale force winds blew throughout the night, bringing it all this way – we have strong to gale force winds blowing at present, but all the dust now seems to have blown out to sea..."
From the Gallery:
"As I write this, there's an insane dust storm that's sweeping over Sydney. I found out about it by seeing a Twitter post from Dan Hill. I'm based in San Francisco but found it so extraordinary I decided to go and see if I could spot pictures coming in and make a little gallery out of them."

This is what climate change looks like. But people will still not believe it. Imagine all of the topsoil that has now been blown away that was once used to farm. The signs are all around us, and yet, much of the world continues on with its business while politicians in the UN pledge once again that they will do something about it... and next year, will we be watching them stand in the UN again repeating the same thing as another catastrophe hits another part of the world?

JanforGore:
Jan, Australia, to me, is a stand out example of global warming. I went to school in Australia and a high temperature in the Sydney suburbs would be 95 degrees F, 98 would be a rare event a few decades ago.... Now, in the same area, temperatures have been reaching 110 -120 during the summer time (now they measure temperatures in Celcius, so it doesn't "sound" as hot).
Temperatures like that were expected in the center of the country, but not on the coastal region... - 2 years ago

Australia's Spring Equinox:
Another friend in Sydney: "Major dust storm greets Sydney this morning. Hail in country NSW the size of golf balls and two small earth quakes in Melbourne..."
Weird weather....
