20 Great Uses for Tea Tree Oil

In 2006, the world consumed more than 3.5 billion gallons of oil per day. A lot of that oil has caused environmental damage and conflicts between nations. But there is one type of oil that’s green, sustainable, healthy, and–as far as I know–has never been the rationale behind a major military intervention: tea tree oil.

well they got the word magic right.
A few drops in a bath as an antiviral?!

Tea tree oil does have anti bacterial properties, but these are largely due to the fact that it contains carbolic acid, used for amongst other things as an embalming chemical.

If this is something you want to put in your body, there are cheaper and more effective ways of getting carbolic acid than pressing it out of tree leaves from Australia.

The stuff is also somewhat dangerous.
"According to the American Cancer Society: "Tea tree oil is toxic when swallowed. It has been reported to cause drowsiness, confusion, hallucinations, coma, unsteadiness, weakness, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset, blood cell abnormalities, and severe rashes. It should be kept away from pets and children."[15]"

So why would one be so up on getting people to use it so much? Well it helps if you know that the UWA in UWA tea tree oil research group stands for University of Western Australia. You know, where they manufacture tea tree oil?
