Climate and Earth caused a series of disasters in different parts of the world in recent days. The Ketsana typhoon in the Philippines, the second to hit the area after the one in August, caused some 250 deaths, the earthquake that struck in the South Pacific Ocean Samoa caused 190 deaths. Much serious the toll of the Padang earthquake in Sumatra, Indonesia, more than 1,100 dead. Today the floods and landslides that have devastated the area of Messina in Italy have reached a toll of 20 dead and many wounded.
