The Solar Decathlon is bolder, brighter, and more efficient than ever! 20 university teams from around the world have designed and built their ultimate solar home on the National Mall in Washington, DC. We're taking a look at a team from each participating country.

This video is about Team Puerto Rico, who try to address the the public taboo that solar power is unrealistic.

    • It's funny, because I recently had a discussion with a co-worker about solar and wind being the "future" of American energy. Although I currently live in the South, I was born and raised in SoCal, Coachella Valley to be exact, and I'm 35 yo. My deceased grandfather proudly contributed as an electrician in the construction of Solar One, and the wind mills in the San Gorgonio Pass Wind Farm have been running as far back as I can remember (I always favored the egg-beaters).

      I'm puzzled that what I remember 30 years ago is being hyped as the future. Damn the MP3, look out for the 8-Track! That's what I'm hearing!?! This strikes me as something that is long overdue. Long overdue. We seem to be playing catch-up these days. I hope we're better than that.

      This is an excellent post. Excuse my digression.
