With the release of several different EVs within the next year, the infrastructure needed to support these vehicles is still dreadfully inadequate. Realizing this, and poised to release its own all-electric Leaf in 2010, Nissan is taking the initiative to build the needed infrastructure itself.

    • It can and will, but how much, and how far, would you venture out with your car now if you could only fill it up at your house? The idea is to make EVs as practical as they can be with their already limited range (~100 miles per charge). Charging them only at home doesn't make them a practical alternative to a gasoline-powered vehicle.
