    • Great! Let's spend a whole bunch of extra money to put batteries into a bus so that we can exchange petroleum pollution for coal pollution that is even worse.

Both coal and petroleum are coming from strip mines now. And rare earth elements needed to make the batteries also come from strip mines.

Run busses on natural gas. Diesels can run just fine on natural gas. The National Park Service has run shutttes for years on compressed natural gas to cut
down pollution in parks that are very sensitive to pollution and congestion. And they don't need expensive and resource hog batteries or recharging.

And natural gas does not come from strip mines. It never can be. It would just fly off into the atmoshere----it is gas. Not only that, we can make natural gas out of scarce and valuable resources, like sewage and landfills. If we are going to waste natural resources, let's waste the really valuable ones.
