Monsanto's Aggressive Lobbying in 2009

Image
GMOJournal
On several occasions GMO Journal has observed that public debate on the impact of GMOs in America is seriously lacking. While the government and media silently stand by and let the agri-giants add to their coffers, the agri-giants are busy spending their millions on misleading public advertising campaigns and influencing our law makers through aggressive lobbying efforts.

    • Unfortunately, the impact that lobbying has on the laws and regulations passed (or not passed) is remarkably more important than the opinions of everyday folks. There is a definite loss to "Democracy" when those we elect to represent us instead represent the monied interests.

    • As I've said before, Lobbyists and Corporate Personhood = broken Democracy. If they are "people" then they should be put on trial for stealing. If you rob someone in a mask as a poor man you go to jail. If you rob someone wearing a suit and call it a "loss" then you're a business man? :)

sadly you even have to ask the question... it would be nice if this never had to be asked

the suppression of information and knowledge is power... and as long as people are kept from information and kept ignorant it makes exploiting people and resources that much easier...

a simpler question to ask, would be how many Americans have read the constitution.. and why do they allow it to be trampled.
