Conscious junk food consumption – Can we break free from the epidemic?

Check out this video parody of the typical American diet -- sure, it's funny, but doesn't it ring eerily true? Why are we knowingly polluting our bodies and planet with "crap" and how can we truly clean up our act?

    • Yes we can break free. I did. I was on a special diet and it was hard at first and then it became second nature and now I look at that stuff and think "just dirty high fructose corn syrup, filth." I don't crave it anymore.

    • I think raw & vegan are not exactly the best options around really, because it's been found in clinical studies that humans actually require a protein compound most commonly found in meats! The safe way to eat meat is cooked! I avoid foods with a ton of chemicals! I don't eat much fast food or red meats! There are likely people saying something's great for you & another group saying it's not! If you are a smart enough person, you research chemicals found in foods! A lot of food dies can actually be deadly to some people!

    • There are classes out there to learn healthy food prep. And there are chefs that do vegan only meals. There are also, chefs that do all raw prep or with very little alteration of the original state of organically, chemical free food. It's just really hard to find them.

I want ALL of Ani Phyo's books. Her Raspberry Ganache Fudge Cake is to die for. It's all good healthy stuff. No animal fat, no sugar but it's decadent and you can eat it everyday. The flour is made from dried walnuts and cacao or carob powder in a food processor. Add a cup of pitted dates! and a little salt. It's to die for! you put a layer of fresh rasberries between two layers of the cake (in a mold) and cover it with her Agave syrup, dates, cacao powder and ripe avocado blended frosting. You can love your way to healthy eating.
