Wyoming Wind Farm Tax Debate

There is a familiar debate in Wyoming. On the one hand you have a new industry trying to gain a foothold in the 8th Windiest state. On the other, you have a State looking for revenue sources concerned about making this new industry paying, what residents see as, their fair share.

    • Adding more taxes is not the answer to increasing revenue. The wind energy companies pay taxes on their profit. In Indiana, the wind energy companies said they will show a profit after three years.
      Added more taxes to wind farms will only get passed on to consumers.
