Green fashion isn't limited to the token selection of organic message tee shirts found at your mall American Apparel and Forever 21. This past New York Fashion Week saw upcycled newspaper sheets turned into a couture gown and digitally printed pattern shift dresses coming down the runway...
Today, eco-designers are doubly confounded -- having to innovate while remaining true to their convictions. If the fall/winter 2010 Fashion Week was any indication, an auspicious future lies ahead for the conscious style genre.
Eco fashion week (in it's second installment), was held at Village Green in downtown Manhattan, and NOT the tents at Bryant Park. Is the fashion industry embracing green fashion week??? And between ready-to-wear and avant-garde eco-conscious styles, will consumers buy into green fashion???

i would hope so! i LOVE green fashion... whether it's organic cottons, bamboo, silks or vintage, recycled, and reincarnated clothing- i don't buy anything else. it makes me feel and look beautiful! i feel that green is finally expanding into high fashion and to me that's very exciting!
