yeah i felt it coming as well which is why i have been so hard at work trying to get opensourceworld.us up and running, so at least the refugees have a place to land

By the way, lack of support for important social and environmental causes are the main source of all problems. So my wish is for people to stop staring at screens and start to help financially things that matters. There are so much waste of money and resources in banal and futile things in the World. This new generation expend more time playing games and wasting time than acting. This is not a critique, it is real, it is happening!

I figured Current would go down this road, but I really hoped I was just being cynical. A real shame, seeing as how I just joined Green, as was really falling in love with it. Best of luck on your future endeavors.

Will miss you young lady, but Al is the root of the problem. He still owes me for the beer. With the lawsuits coming, you know the ones. I'm sure all of Current will fail soon.

I am not privy to the changes going on. From the sound of what you say, it sounds like chasing the almighty $$$ and don't piss off the rich kids.

This just happened on two different forums that I have always been very active in. One, a German Shepherd forum. It was announced that it had been sold and ownership was changing hands. There were all kinds of assurances that "nothing would change". Then there came a deluge of "new rules"---no controversial subjects allowed. No live chat room. Changes on the board content. No mentioning that pet store chains get their puppies from puppy mill breeders(they are heavy advertisers now). There are now posts all over extolling the virtues of Pit Bull Terriers(on a German Shepherd board---I guess the new owners prefer PBs). There is so much advertising, it sometimes takes 5 minutes for a page to load. About the only subjects left to post about are recipes, and cute puppy pictures. It used to be a forum dedicated to the betterment of the breed. Now, it is a forum dedicated to making advertising $$$ off of people who love their dogs and the breed----it doesn't contribute anything to either, it just exploits it to make $$$ selling advertising.

So, greed and profits win again.

If you want me, I'll be up on Mt. Hood. My phone will be turned off----just follow the sound of the gunfire. I'll be the guy with the German Shepherds and the guns.

Wait, what do you mean current is going to stop all original online content? vc2? what else is in their "best interest?" are they shutting down the viewer created ads too or is that considered acceptable?

You will be missed Leah. You have done some great work here, and you have made a real and tangible contribution to the green movement. I am grateful for what you have done, and excited for what you are doing to do.

Whatever life brings you, you will always have your love of Earth and your dedication to preserving it to take with you. Bad choice for Current. They should have used the original online content as a testing ground for their TV programming.

Current is becoming less and less democratic and more and more centralized.

The whole reason Current was so awesome when i discovered it two years ago, was that it was like a community access channel for the entire world.

more and more, it's becoming just another TV channel.

I will be sad to see Leah Lamb go from Current. I really thought that Current Green should have become an on-air segment.
