Tar Sands Debate 2

Calvin Duane, Manager of Environment at Canadian Natural discusses the bird deterrent system used at the tailings pond. The tailings pond is where the ore is deposited after it's been processed and the bitumen has been removed. The problem with this deposit is the small amount of bitumen that remains after processing. It can cause harm to birds that land on the pond.
