Seven Cardinal Rules of Veganism that I Break Regularly

Going vegan isn't THAT hard, especially when you allow for the occasional slip up as I do. But because animal agriculture takes such a toll on our planet, it is a diet that all environmentalists should be taking into consideration. Are any of you thinking about going vegan?

    • How sad that going vegan seems to be so difficult for this one individual. Perhaps she's only a diet-oriented vegan, and not one who knows about, and thinks about, all the atrocities inflicted upon our animal friends.

    • EthicalVegan:

Hi EthicalVegan. I'm the person in that article. I wrote that article to inspire other people that are considering plant based diets and to break down walls. As a green living blogger, I have to keep in mind the environmentalist's apprehensions about veganism as I write.

I've been a vegan for more than two years now and it has never been a difficult or "sad" journey for me. In fact, I consider it to be the decision I am most proud of in my life. I am well aware of all of the atrocrities inflicted upon our animal friends. Along with health, moral, spiritual and environmental reasons, I was compelled to become a vegan.

Encouraging others--namely environmentalists--to embrace veganism as part of "going green" is very important to me. And rather than discouraging people by showing how perfectly vegan I am, I try to help them understand that I have hard days too. That's what I was trying to do with that blog post.
