"The Emperor Wears No Clothes" is on of the most profound books I have ever read. Back in the late 80's I watched Jack Herer on The Morning Exchange in Cleveland. After watching the show, I called the station trying to find out more about Jack Herer and his book. I was told he was a walk in and they had no information about him.
The next Sunday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer had an article about a book store, which sold books about everything, including how to make explosives. I called the book store on Monday and when I asked about the book "The Emperor Wears No Clothes", I was told they didn't carry it, it was a 'taboo' subject.
I later found the book and read it from cover to cover. Half of the book contains all the historical facts about cannabis hemp, which were removed from history books in America. It included all the many uses of cannabis hemp. The second half of the book contains the actual documentation to back up the facts.
After reading the book, I was sure things would change. There in print were the facts! Facts matter? But, alas we were at war in America and facts be damned. There was money to be made, from the 'man made war'.
How sad, we have more people in prison than any other country in the world, basically due to the 'man made war' on American soil. The war on cannabis was based on spin, disinformation and lies, facts be damned, there was money to be made. Politicians had a cash cow for their political campaigns and they were not willing to accept facts, when they could accept cash for continuing the war on cannabis.
Sad, sad, sad!

My favorite book ever... don't know how many copies I have owned... I end up giving them away to people that I meet whom haven't read it. This book needs to be given to high school kids, I wish I had known half of the info in this book while in school. You are taught history throughout your life with hemp being conveniently left out.
Hemp will save the planet!

The end of the prohibition of hemp is long over due. How long will we tolerate the outlawing of one of the most useful and versatile plants on the planet?
It's time for another "Hemp for Victory" campaign, this time to save the planet. Hemp certainly won't solve all our problems, but it can make significant contributions in many areas that are vital to humanities sustainability on this planet.
We can't continue on our current path indefinitely, business as usual is not an option. Do we want a planet with no more fish, but plentiful gyres? Waring over dwindling fossil fuels, while ignoring appropriate and sustainable technologies should relegated to history books. All the signs that our strained and poisoned planet is giving us are saying now is the time for change.
"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
If you don't already believe that HEMP would be a great first step, please read this book.
