It is very interesting to ride on elephants but it is even more important to help them live well. There are a lot of people who prefer voluntourism. And CNN offered 15 places animal lovers can visit and bring welfare there.

1) Wash elephant in Thailand. You can become an Elephant Nature Park volunteer The Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai province of Northern Thailand. It is a very famous sanctuary and rescue center for elephants.

Price: US$400 per week (including on-site accommodation and meals).

2) Research koalas in Australia. Take part in 10-day expedition in Victoria's Great Otway National Park, conducting valuable research of the impact of climate change on their population and behavior.

Price: US$3,115 (including on-site accommodation and meals).

3) Fund-raising horse treks in Turkey. Relief Riders International is an adventure travel organization that combines tourism with humanitarian projects.

Price: US$5,800 (including equestrian costs, most meals, accommodation and some transfers)

4) Release Przewalski horses in Mongolia. In the Hustai National Park, west of the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaataryou can take part in 10 days volunteer program releasing Takhi back into their natural environment.

Price: US$85 per day (for stays between 10 and 21 days, including accommodation, transfers to and from Ulaanbaatar and meals)

5) Spread turtle awareness in Malaysia. Help Our Penyu promotes turtle conservation and marine awareness volunteering opportunities. Volunteer program usually lasts between 7 and 28 days.

Price: US$250 per week (includes return boat transfer to Perhentian Islands, marine park entrance fee, accommodation, meals and a snorkel tour)
