GMO is endangering people’s health and our environment at an alarming rate.
Cross-contamination is irreversible and good, organic crops are being jeopardized.
These seeds are incredibly expensive compared to the traditional ones and have been genetically modified to produce their own pesticide, to survive the spraying of the: “Roundup”, a potent herbicide and to self terminate.
This has lead our farmers to buy new GMO seeds each year and depend on Monsanto. As a result of this ruthless drive to use India as a testing ground for genetically modified crops, 125,000 farmers took their own lives.
These people were driven to debt, to economic distress, homeless and landless.
GMO has and is failing catastrophically.
This company is persecuting, bullying and bringing farms to bankruptcy.
GMO was never adequately tested for safety, actually more and more research shows its dangers to the human/animal health, polluting our crops and our water.
Monsanto did use false advertising; Monsanto poisons the third world and privatizes water. Its employees have passed through the so-called revolving door many times, they rotated between this industry and the public agencies: Clarence Thomas, Gwendolyn S. King, Linda Fisher, Jim Travis, Linda Avery Strachanand, Toby Moffet , Marcia Hale, Donald Bandle, George H. Poste, Michael Kantor and Michael Taylor all bending rules, finding loopholes to assure this company profits.
This technology is only exacerbating hunger, poverty, irreversible contamination and climate change in our world.
Bring down Monsanto’s monopoly on our food and a centralized agriculture.
Bring down Monsanto’s genetically engineered seeds.
Bring down the use of harmful pesticides, herbicides and chemicals alike.
Hold this company accountable for its damages to the world.
Organic agriculture, permaculture and biodiversity are the only answer to sustainability, to the preservation of our environment and our health.
We want you, as our government, as a body of representation of the people of the United States to invest billions subsidizing organic, environmental agriculture.
Bring down Monsanto’s poisoning, companies alike and the agrochemical industry once and for all as it is one of the greatest threats to the whole human race.
Thank you.

This is the issue that finally made me get off my ass to try and do something! I try to inform everyone I can about what they are pumping into their bodies AND their children's bodies. Not to mention the environmental and economical problems created by this industry. I've joined my local occupy group to help raise awareness about this above all else. We can't fight against these issues if we don't have our health and the greedy are taking exactly that from us. I will be speaking about the occupy movement during a dinner to honor several women in my community. The food industry will be the main focus on what I discuss because I know that most women would do everything they can to stop anyone from harming their families and that is exactly what is happening every day and they don't even realize it. Only through knowledge can we strive to be better. I will do as much as I can to help spread knowledge so that we can grow as one.

The really sad part is the fact that far too few people even know what GMO is, let alone the long term effects. Monsanto is evil, greedy and well financed, not to mention they have the Supreme court in its back pockets the public doesn’t have a fucking chance, neither do the few organic Farmers, soon all farmers market will be gone. I can see it now, the Monsanto Employees and all these soulless people receiving handouts think they are safe as long as they don’t eat this shit, but there wrong like always.

I agree, the people in this country have been kept in the dark. However, we are changing that. The Right 2 Know March that went all the way to DC on Oct 16 opened a lot of eyes as well as keeping this in the public view. And actually, less land is being cultivated worldwide than these people thought would be by this time due to global resistance to this. You don't see too much of it here yet, but I think that is changing. We have to keep at it.

What bothers me the most is people retain unless information and can’t find time to read real topics that actually effect their lives. I do a Face plant every time I ask someone about Monsanto or the college debt bubble, Credit card rip-offs, Pay the dealer used car salesmen, RAC and Aarons, fucking pay-day loans, but let me ask who won the game last night and these people can rattle off meaningless stats for hours. Their upset because the NBA is locked out, but they can’t find Libya on a map, this type of thinking has me SHM way too often.

You got that right. The so called reality TV has the population so brain washed and brain dead it's not funny. Most people live in a fantasy world and if they ever saw the real world they wouldn't know what it was or what to do. It's like an addiction and it's too late for many of them until they are at the doctors office,(if they can afford one), and ask for a cure and their is one but the cost is too much for them to pay.
My advice is that if you can grow your own then find a local farm small one is the best and buy either the seeds or small plants as many of them keep their seeds every season. - 7 months ago

And they are also part of the 1% that is using profit to subjugate the poor while destroying nature and actually working to change the natural order to suit their own selfish greed.

And of course, when we are talking about the toxification of this world with poisons in our air, water and land, we are also talking about DOW, Dupont and those companies which provided the chemical weapons of war and other toxic products that still affect subsequent generations of humans from Vietnam, to Bhopal, to the U.S. These are now the chemicals being sprayed ON OUR FOOD and to now clear forests! And yet, this gets no mention in our complicit media as the rate of cancer increases, as diabetes increases, as obesity increases, as infertility increases and as allergies increase while our biodiversity declines.
HOW DO THESE COMPANIES CONTINUE TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER?
And it is not just the effect of these poisons over generations on humans. It is the effects on other species and particularly the murder of our biodiversity! There isn't enough green paper you could make to truly pay for all of the damage caused by these evil, greedy, heartless people.
So, how about when ex governor Jennifer Granholm starts her new show here that I am sure she is being well paid for she take some time on the first episode to tell us all why she would agree to be on the board of directors of a company like DOW (which is now also into GMOs) and explain to us why she resigned from that board the day she got the job at Current. Was it damage control? Did she have an attack of conscience? Was she hoping to infiltrate them? What was the motivation and why is it that their headquarters in her state of Michigan was continually cited for water pollution? And why is it when someone here takes it upon themselves to ask these important questions they are summarilly ignored with the issue being swept under the rug? Don't we and our questions matter here?
This may not be important to some, but it is to me and others who care deeply for this Earth and are sick and tired of the very companies people rail at when it is "politically convenient" for them getting a free pass from those same people when it suits them or their wallets. They have poisoned ENOUGH. They have managed to build empires of death repackaged and disguised now as caring "sustainable agriculture, "life sciences" companies. They are evil, they are greedy, they are deceptive, they are inhumane and it is time that they were held accountable for the blood on their hands.
I don't care what your political party is, if you have anything to do with any of these companies you have some explaining to do.

Jan a question.
Did anyone ever do a soil check to see how using GMO's is effecting it? I can't find anything on that and thought maybe you would know where to look. - 7 months ago
