7 marathons in 7 days on 7 continents 30 items | updated Apr 17 2009
On the 14th March 2009,
three world record holding athletes, two English and one American, will embark on a mission of a lifetime to become the first men on earth to run 7 Marathons in 7 consecutive days on 7 separate continents.
Stuart, Chris and Olly’s journey will take them from Antarctica's icy plains to the thriving city metropolises of Los Angeles, Santiago, Sydney and Hong Kong. From here they will travel to the vast deserts of North Africa and finally arrive for a homecoming in London on Saturday 21st March.
The team will race around the clock, catching what little sleep they can on connecting flights and will be monitored continually by GPS in their bid to be approved by the Guinness World Record authority and raise $200,000 to build an orphanage in Uganda.
