There's no point in even posting statements of fact on this site as somebody will always have a take or twist on them. It would be best that supporters actually donate to the charity and the goal of raising $200,000. It would be excellent to achieve that goal at the end of the 7 days or 8 days or whatever it takes. I'm sure everyone would agree on this and I hope they're getting close to the target. I've deleted any input previously provided and this is my final posting.

I think you should move on - there's no conspiracy here. You'd be better off supporting the lads for their attempted world first of 7 ultra marathons on 7 continents in 7 days and all the money they are raising for charity.
No one can take away your 7 standard marathons on 7 continents in 6 days.

I think Mr. Donovan is really bothered by this record setting attempt. Although they never said that they are trying to "top" him it seems to me that running 50k ultramarathons would be longer than 26.2 mile marathons. Anyway I looked around and found a very interesting read about how these guys are doing this on a very limited budget, take a look:

Mr Donovan i think you are losing track of what this is about, it is 4 guys trying to earn a huge amount of cash for good causes by stepping way way out their comfort zones. I know that in no way are they trying to belittle your fantastic achievement and you can hardly blame them for a TV piece that they will have had no editorial control over.
Good luck to the boys and bring on London!!

Dear Richard. Cannot help but think you will loose a lot of respect with this blog. The boys have a very different goal than yours ..... and are quick to tell people that they are novices in running terms. They have the goal of raising money for charities as the prime reason. I know because I spent a fantastic 24 hrs helping them out. Actual running times are very much secondary, they are only just getting the distance done before their next flight. Despite what Sir Ralph says they are long on passion and short on preparedness.
Your achievement over the Marathon distance stands as a wonderful running performance. Well done. You are in another class compared to these delightful amateurs and I trust you have "set the bar" for those in the Ultra community who will follow to break your time.
For the moment though .... lets just all cheers these "fantastic four" along as they struggle to make it through.
One last thought .... if they were serious about beating anyone why oh why would they have chosen to run at altitude in Joberg.
Best of luck lads ..... the Kenna family - 3 years ago
