Obama pledges to capture or kill Osama "been dead for years" bin Laden

In his first televised interview since the 2008 Elections, President-elect Obama told 60 Minutes that fighting Al Qaeda once and for all would be a top priority of his upcoming administration.

Did President-elect Obama not get the memo that the famed terrorist Osama bin Laden has long since been dead? With Obama's much-heralded, tech-savvy staff that he assembled to build his change.gov website, you'd have to assume at least one person would have informed him what most logically thinking people have known for years.

    • Thanks, maasanova, I subscribe to your feed newsletter, too!

JanforGore, exactly. No difference. The two party system is really one party, The Capitalist Party with slight differences, but both bow to the corporations and the MIC. Whatever happened to We, the people? Time for us to take back our country, of course, that means getting up and away from the TV and other "entertainment".

It'll be interesting to see if many of Obama's supporters actually do something when "their" candidate/president doesn't follow through on his promises. My guess is that Obama will be much more like Bill Clinton complete with the approval of the mostly apathetic public.

The difference is a potential difference. If Obama actually does go after Bin Laden and sticks to it until the job is done, then he will have established a large difference between himself and Bush (besides his eliquence with the english language). However, if Obama goes after Bin Laden and then decides that it is too hard and pulls out, he will have taken a solid step into Bush's shadow.

Now I completely agree that we have a two party system, and that we need to have a more diverse political arena in our nation. But that doesn't mean that a person from one of the two parties who is elected will simply be just like the majority in office, nor does it mean that he/she will be different.

Quick question though, what do you mean Dandelion Salad that Obama will probably be much more like Bill Clinton? Didn't Bill try t push an assasination attempt on Bin Laden, only to be stopped by a republican controlled house under the claiming that Bin Laden could not be assasinated because it is ilegal to assasinate a political figure? Bin Laden is not nor was not a political figure. Then again, I could be reading your meaning inncorrectly. Please inform me if that is so.
