No accounting for taste?

KevinAnderson
A recent study showed that in a blind taste test people preferred a cheap bottle of Cava to an expensive bottle of Dom Perignon. Is personal taste more important than a critic's opinion?

    • Although I'm not a wine drinker, this sort of study goes any which way. Like music for example. You'll talk to a lot of music critics who have never picked up an instrument or played in a band, but they know what they like and don't like and that's enough for them to speak their mind on the issue.

I think I respect the opinion of an expert in wine, music, movies, restaurants because they dedicate their lives to this certain field to know all there is to know. However, taste is how you see, taste, feel, smell, and hear things. My senses will differ from yours. I like a firm pillow, you like a soft one. I guess that's just how it works.
