Here's an interview with a friend of Alexandros Grigoropoulos, in which he described what happened the night of Alex's murder.

I can't find another source on this anywhere. Anyone got one?
From the article:
"According to sources, the results of a ballistics test revealed an as yet unidentified substance on the bullet, as well as marks, but experts ruled out the possibility of the bullet having hit a metal or concrete surface before striking the youth, fueling speculation that the marks on the bullet had been caused by contact with the victim’s bone."
Things like "according to sources" and "experts ruled" ring alarm bells when the experts and sources are not named.
In the same way that we shouldn't believe that the boy was killed by a rogue bullet, we also shouldn't believe that he was killed by a direct hit until there is some clear evidence.
I imagine that these kinds of blogs are a reaction to the Greek Police's knee-jerk statement of "it was a ricochet bullet".
These are treacherous information waters we are in.

lol....that picture.
I don't care what happened. It will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER justify a riot.
Being mad that someone died is one thing. Being mad that someone died and then go and cause your own destruction via a mob mentality is a totally another hypocritical manner.
That transcript is so confusing. He double back too much in his story. Just tell the story. If it's too much for you right now...wait and tell it later..or write it down and submit it in written form so that it's more coherent and less all over the place.
People control the emotion of a situation by the way they react. If one person starts yelling and taunting they are causing an unstable situation to get worse and worse.
now it's not the fault of the teens that the police fired. That's the police fault. However, just like in driving, you can maneuver defensively. By doing so you can make it where the situation is so volatile. But they were not taught that by their parents...who if they loved them would have afforded them such thoughts....so they escalated the problem with their own words that were not within reason.
It sucks that a teen died. It sucks horribly that parents lost their child and that friends lost their friend and I hope that somehow they recover from this situation. But a riot is not going to help them. It's only going to harm them. Riots don't heal...they rip the wound further apart making things 100 billion times worse.
In a time of healing people choose to cause more harm.
Zero smart.

what are you talking about? this is more than just a dead teen...the greek people are pissed about their corrupt government, high unemployment, etc etc, and they are fighting to change it. justice isn't given to those who ask, it's given to those who take it.

So let me get this straight (based on the picture), people defending the police think that a police officer shot a bullet into the air, it reflected off of a UFO, and went into the kid? Greece, you get five more days, GO!

A mock-up of a TV reconstruction of the ‘UFO defence’ that child-killer Epaminondas Korkoneas appears to be relying on, if the statements of his lawyer Alexis Kougias are to be believed:
This tragedy is the result… of an act by the policeman to fire into the air. The bullet ricocheted, we have an entry wound from above. It proves irrefutably that it was a ricochet.

hold on, is it rely an entry wound from above?
if so wouldn't that mean that the cop was standing over the teenager? - 3 years ago
