Most destructive dog? Not a rotweiler, or a pitbull...

Or even an Alsatian, but a Great Dane. Now where's the news in that I hear you ask, there isn't any, but what came in at number two in the destructive dogs poll gave me a bit of a shock. It's the Chihuahua!

According to a new survey, the Great Dane causes the most destruction in its lifetime, on average causing £668 worth of damage, closely followed by the Chihuahua which racks up £638 in damage repairs.

Apparently, there was another surprise inclusion in the destructive dogs data is the Dachsund. Sausage dogs cause an average £444 of damage during their lives.

    • My husband and I have a Great Dane and she's pretty destructive. She doesn't chew or destroy in the predictable way though- it's her tail. That thing is like a whip and will knock anything in it's way down (including you). But she's a big 155 lb. baby :)

    • I bet great danes are only up their 'cause they're all legs and get easily discombobulated. Little dogs are always the meanest.

    • Aww, but Great Danes are so fantastic!

(Never mind the fact that the one we had did things like eat rosebushes, and possibly the head of a statue. We're not really sure what happened to poor St. Francis.)
