Animal Cruelty in Dodge Ram Outdoorsman Commercial | No Video, Just Description
"Just saw a commercial for this truck.....the Outdoorsman....guy is lying down in the woods at night, a bird is chirping, loudly.....the guy is irritated by the chirping....gets up and goes to the back of the truck, opens some type of large toolbox, pulls out a bow and then shoots the bird....the chirping stops. OMFG!!! "

While there are undoubtedly many misguided dodge ram owners who are not neanderthals, that is the market they target. They are big, noisy, smelly, and a curse to the environment, referring to both the trucks and their owners. They love nature so long as it doesn't inconvenience them and they can kill everything they choose in it. People who are lacking in certain areas of manhood are particularly drawn to the ram. I'm surprised they haven't made truck nuts standard equipment so those so lacking don't have to add them as an after market item.

I just saw this commercial for the first time! I am simply appalled as well!! ...that so many people lack sense of humor! It was hilarious! He was in the woods to kill something a lot bigger than some annoying cricket. In reality there.was.no.cricket. Besides you didn't actually see him kill the cricket! Technically all you heard was a thud and the chirping sound stop so it was your mind deciding he must have killed it. To avid hunter Dan maybe the cricket heard it and stopped thinking the thud was a predator!
Right now I'm not sure what is funnier the commercial or some of these posts! Sounds like everyone against this are uptight and can't find the humor in the little things. Want to know the best part? I had my dad rewind it so I could watch it again! ;p

I'm so glad I am not alone in being completely outraged by the Ram commercial! Whoever came up with that ad campaign should be left out in the woods and left to natures mercy.

OK no real animals killed, but the commercial clearly simulates an illegal poaching activity. I guess Dodge is targeting "outdoorsmen" who think it is perfectly OK to go shoot anything that moves in the woods. If the shoe fits...

The real tragedy is the the jerk in the commercial is representative of the level of "humanity" that Dodge vehicles typically appeal to; Dodge knows this well -- that's why they spent all that $$ on the ad.

I called the customer service number at Dodge and told them that hunter's behavior was not sportsmanlike and offensive. maybe you can too. Also suggested changing PR guy to someone that can promotes a truck's features.

xShabutiex, you are an ASS. And that's being gentle.
This is the MOST DISGUSTING commercial ever. I understand people hunt, but they also enjoy nature. To kill a critter becuase its making noise at night "disturbing sleep" is just neanderthal andoutrageously disgusting. I've sent complaints to Chrslyer and all the animal rights groups. - 1 year ago

Chrysler's new Outdoorsman truck commercial demonstrates less than poor taste. It is appalling!
A supposed outdoor type shooting any creature that makes noise in the forest. Really, who could the company possibly be striving to reach with that message… gang bangers or psychopaths such as 'Shabutie'? Certainly not anyone that truly is an outdoorsman.
The commercial stinks, My suggestion is to remove it from the air immediately before you further damage your already tarnished brand reputation. Then fire the Chrysler marketing executive that approved the ad’s creation and the agency that proposed and created it. Neither is doing your company any favors.

Hold on. You people actually think that it was a bird? hahaha This is why hippies should be locked up in cages and put on display for people to make fun of. Since you don't like the animals to be in there, maybe you'll like it yourself.

I just know that I will cross Dodge off my list of potential vehicles. I guess this truck only appeals to psychopathic insomniacs that buy a truck drive to the outdoors to camp right next to it.
Nice marketing campaign Dodge. Did you really pay the writers in dollars?

whether or not it was a bird ( sounded like a cricket to me) is irrelevant. the wimpering castrati should pipe down. it's their effeminate kind that throw around the "proving their manhood", "compensating for small balls" comments. i kill critters that taste good, and those that are pests. both are legitimate reasons for killing.

That was not a cricket; it was a bird. The commercial was so disgusting that I e-mailed ASPCA about right after I saw it and I don't normally do things like that. I am a member of this association and I believe Dodge deliberately did this to appease to the kind of person who...well, I'll say this, needs to "prove" (or improve) their masculinity. EthicalVegan is correct.

Your friend is an idiot. It was a cricket. Not a bird.

How nice of you to write so kindly, and how silly of you to sign up with current only BECAUSE you needed to attack someone.
Anyway, my friend is not an idiot -- you don't even know my friend (DO you???), so that's an extraordinarily unfair accusation.
That is not a cricket. Crickets have a nearly "perpetual" chirping sound that doesn't "change tune" but, instead, changes in speed based on the temperature changes -- or the occasional sense of a nearby predator.
The BIRD you heard in that commercial is a nightingale, which makes perfect sense, since the sick scene takes place at... NIGHT.
And if you were right -- and you're not -- I sincerely doubt a drowsy hunter* (*aka stupid human) could even SEE a cricket that far away, much less be able to strike and kill one with a bow and arrow. And what a WIMP this hunter is that he can't sleep in the great outdoors because of one little, beautiful bird. And what an ASSHOLE for needing to KILL such a tiny -- and innocent -- creature.... his hunter-balls must be the size of... well... crickets!
And ALSO if you were right -- and you're not -- what difference would THAT make? Your idol still found a disturbing need to execute another living being.
Here's the link to the commercial, in case you didn't watch, or HEAR, it:

HAHAHAHA.....a moose!!!! I've listened to that commercial, appalling as it is, a few times. I never heard a cricket sound quite like that.
If I remember correctly, dodge has a history of trouble with PETA.
