the beauty in it is non-violent. however, there is always the potential for hazard. in much the same way as copoeira, it is an outlet for potentially harmful acts in non-violent ways. it's beautiful; it is a dance and a dangerous dance at that.

This sport it amazing! I wish there were a place in my own city where I could see people doing this live. Even if was just an arena setting (think of those rock/wall climbing places that have become so popular) so you could see different ways people interact with objects or be able to do it yourself, would be great!

This would be good when running from law enforcement officials in an urban environment as well. I think I will start practicing the art of parkour in Chicago.

The subject matter is original but the is piece is lacking some elements that I wanted to see. I would like to see or hear more conflict/dilemma. I would of also liked to see more of other people doing the leaps, and people reacting to the sport, to bring credibility and authenticity to the subject. In addition, I would like to know a little more about the character, see some shots from leaving his home to Parkour, etc. Great job!

This guy is sweet. How did you find him? I'm really interested in what religion thing he was talking about, what that did to him, and what about parkour kept him coming back.
Also your location was great. Battery Park? Get any broll on the liberty steps? - 4 years ago

What a great pod. The character, information and movement in the pod are all awesome. David Belle's passion for parkour makes everything he says about it so much more interesting, and I love how the pod is just as fast and spontaneous as parkour itself. Even the interviews, the traditionally most static parts of a pod, give us a sense of movement, having been conducted in different places on the street. Belle's character leaves me yearning for more info about him, though, as I'm sure his story would add a lot to our understanding of the importance of parkour to him. However, with the pod's fast style, it doesn't leave much room for much else. If too much more had been crammed in, the pod would have lost its intensity and the effect would have been lost. As it is, the two and a half minute length is fitting and satisfying for such a cool subject. Great job.

It fascinates me how David Belle made parkour so deeply connected to one's philosophy and I think this character shows that really well. The one thing I was interested in that this pod didn't show was how did this guy find parkour? But I love the movement and I love his explanation of the philosophy behind parkour he really explains them well.

I am in love with "free-running" or Parkour as they call it now. The physical agility of people who do these sports is beyond belief and much more interesting to see in my opinion than a regular court-restricted basketball game. The world is the Parkour's court. I would have loved to see more on the history of the sport or even the main character but the BRoll footage of the character using the concrete jungle is enough to make me want to hit the gym right about now! Great pod, would love to see more!

parkour is as much of a sport as anything else,
in fact, much more so than NASCAR... - 4 years ago

There's a lotta controversy over whether this is a sport or not. Think it'll ever make the olympics.
