I'm so happy to see a POD about FreeCycle!! I heard about it a couple of years ago when I was babysitting for a single mom with 4 kids. Their money was tight and it was nice that she had this option to find some nice stuff for her kids without spending a ton of money.

Thanks again for all the positive feed back. I love Freecycle . It nearly guarantees that what you give goes to someone that will use it.
I once dropped off a computer and printer at the Salvation Army and they told me they would probably throw it out (I'm not even sure they e-cycle). A few years later I had two old computers that I gave away on Freecycle. One to a guy who was creating a computer museum and another to someone making fish tanks from old Mac units.
Some trash is only one part away from being fine. There are tons of folks looking to take that the sub-perfect item. Even better is that Freecycle come to you!
Clearly in the land of plenty, we are OVER-fortunate. Pass on and buy less.

Freecycle has changed my life! This pod will carry the message to countless others who suffer from clutter and over-consumption as I did until recently. Well done. (I especially appreciate the absence of any self-righteous overtones.) GL

super cool. Thanks for putting the word out about this. We do something like this in my neighborhood in Seattle with free boxes and quarterly clothing swaps, but I didn't realize there was a global community for this. Really well put-together pod. A compelling story with interesting characters and locations. ::greenlight::

Thanks for all the positive feed back.
Here's some facts from Recycle This1. 80% of US products are used once, then thrown away
2. Clothing & textiles = 6.5% of New York City's waste stream
3. New York City residents discard 13,000 tons of waste every day.
4. 71 pounds fo waste is created for every pound of finished products.
5. 11.5% of NYC's waste is non-recyclable plastic. Almost half of that is plastic bags!
6. More than 30% of municipal waste is packaging. (40% of that is plastic)

Very interesting, something to rival the "throw away generation" that is going on right now. A free garage sale. It is very true and sad how we throw away perfectly good items that can be used by less unfortunate people. GL from me.

Hmmmm... I've got a lot of still-functional cr** I'd like to get rid of. I might actually give this a try!
That sorta says something itself about the worthiness of this pod. I think it could be trimmed a bit, but still a good story told effectively (clearly), so GL from me.

Freecycling is great--the underground economy. Better for the environment and great for human interaction, too. Thanks to everyone who makes this possible!

Freecycle rocks, this video definately hits it dead on !
Someone asked Why is this better than giving to Goodwill, Housing Works, or the Salvation Army?
Because they sell the items and freecycle gives it away for free, and people will pick things up from you, no transporting stuff. It's fabulous !

Great content. The subject-matter definitely didn't allow you to make a very visually compelling film, but that didn't keep you from telling a great story anyway, and you did a great job telling it.
The film is light and informative, but its implications are very real and tangible. - 5 years ago

I love the fact that you are making pods that are meaningful and reachable. This should be on TV so that more people are aware of options like these. We are wasteful in America and it's sad. I'm going to check out your toher work, froma glance, it all is realistic choices..are you an Aquarian, like me? GL
