I don't know about this...if anything, the juxtaposition of Mao's portrait with corporate logos suggests that what he's really criticizing isn't communism - it's the hypocrisy of the current regime in claiming to be socialist and yet catering only to the rich and the corporations.
It's a powerful political statement/criticism that would really ring true in the hearts of the average Chinese citizen, and that, if anything would be the reason for them to ban it.
