Chinese contemporary artists are making fun of communism's sacred cows in the name of art, while over 2200 delegates continue political meetings at the 17th Communist Party Congress in Beijing.

    • "communism's sacred cows"

      I don't know about this...if anything, the juxtaposition of Mao's portrait with corporate logos suggests that what he's really criticizing isn't communism - it's the hypocrisy of the current regime in claiming to be socialist and yet catering only to the rich and the corporations.

      It's a powerful political statement/criticism that would really ring true in the hearts of the average Chinese citizen, and that, if anything would be the reason for them to ban it.

    • This was bold. It showed what we can do in a country with "freedom of the press". we represent the posibility for millions of stories to be told the world over that might never make it "on tv'. Thanks Current, and thanks artists, who's vision can change the conversation, if not the world.
