If you're feeling flush and really want to help someone out, take a look at this site. The concept is very simple. You loan somebody in need an agreed sum of money for something they need to improve their lives, with a focus on entrepreneurial start-ups. How sweet is that?

    • I worked on the show Penny Revolution and I wonder if anyone caught it. Anyway, I'm trying to put together a little website about everything we did fin the series and all the organizations that we worked with because there is a lot more to microfinance than Kiva - even though they are doing an awesome job and are great guys to boot. I'll post something more up about the website if I manage to finish it!

    • KIVA was showcased HERE on Current TV about a year ago. I have been loaning though Kiva for over a year now and it is a wonderful thing to get those e-mails sayiing a loan payments has been made back and the update of how the business you loaned to is doing. It really brightens the day to know people are trying to make it work and that you can participate in that on some small level.

    • KIVA was also showcased in the program Penny Revolution which is shown on Equator HD. If you get Equator HD check it out. Seeing people in developing countries actually being able to start their own businesses and make a difference in others' lives as well is wonderful.

    • I think this is a great idea. Maybe we could loan the whole of the developing world a copious amount of cash and then keep increasing the interest on it so they can never pay it back.....oh wait.......

      On a serious note, I do think this is cool.
