Still one of my favorite pods. My profile pic was made before I saw it, but I know now what it's called. Thanks classic Current.

Wicked cool. This artist thrives on the process just as much as the finished piece, and that's really refreshing. Very impressive to watch him work his magic, and I loved the gyroscope bit.

very nice work just not starting to get into slow shutter speed and light trails its such a surreal affect. thats how our brain would capture light in the dark if it were celluloid film.

We really enjoyed your video. We do light art as well.. but you have taken it to a whole new level. Your video kept me interested till the end and left me wanting more. Very cool. Good luck

interesting video. "exporing" like this quite often easily lends itself to many even unrelated creative inspirations...and a lot of time "having fun" articulating personal goals and ideals
very nice to see you seem to naturally make the time to nurture a "golden goose" instead of constantly squeezing/eeking out every last ounce of golden eggs with mere bland "production value."
good job! keep having fun! =)

I had a go at this last night, and now realise how damn difficult it is. But I had fun, and I'm going to continue trying to learn what indeed is an exceptional skill.

This is really cool. As and artist I'm always down with learning new ways of creating art. This is really cool. I don't think it would hurt to use the music through out the whole pod. Even over dialog. Great pod though.

Interesting pod. I like the subject matter, however I feel like this piece would benefit from a wider range of shots. It feels like I'm staring at his face, in the dark, a lot during this pod. Maybe if you could find another light artist to interview as well?
Also, I think it's just a tiny bit too long. All in all, good work :)

I remember playing with light in photography, it was harder than I thought it would be. You really have to practice for a flower to look like a flower, for the light to connect the peice as a whole.

Awesome pod! I love light painting, but I don't do it enough, this definitely inspired me to go out there and have fun with it.
I especially liked the shot where you overlaid the finished photo over the video of him painting the word "light" that was awesome.

This is cool, because we did stuff like this on B&W film back in the 90's when I was in college. Back then it was film, so you'd have to shoot a roll, develop it, make a contact sheet, and find which ones worked the best (F16, Ball, 20 second exp.) then compare it to the others, pick a negative and make a print.
The new SLR digital cameras give you instant feedback, so it's just like what we used to do back in the dinosaur days, but with instant gratification.
Thanks for reminding an old photo buff what old tricks you can do with the newer technology, I started out in photojournalism before I went to videography so this was especially meaningful to me.
"Painting With Light" is a great way to apply the terminology we used to use in the darkroom to the instant feedback from digital-SLRs. Back in the film days we'd spend hours turning negatives into prints in the darkroom we would dodge & burn the image on to the paper, and we often called it "painting with light" during the printmaking process.
I'm going to try this with my camera. Thanks!

Great work. Hope to see more.
I think it would be neat to see the artist try to tackle a large portrait with various people coordinated with various lights to create a supper picture. Maybe a city block or a large field. - 4 years ago

It's interesting to see these trends (like light grafitti / light painting) make their way into the mainstream (as in the Sprint ads). Oh and here's Picasso throwing up a dope piece of "light graffiti". Rezpect!
